I love all holidays, but I especially love Valentine’s Day. It’s an artist’s dream holiday! Think, a holiday that relies so heavily on graphic design! Trying to doll up your valentines as a kid for school, homemade or storebought... decorating your brown paper bag or shoebox (we did shoeboxes when I was a wee lass in kindergarten)... such an emphasis on presentation! You look for the box of chocolates that stands out the most to you, or the most noteworthy flowers, etc, etc. Graphic design is a pivotal part of this holiday!
So, to mark the occasion, I thought I’d share some vintage valentines with you. You’d be amazed (or perhaps not) at how many strange valentines lie out there!
Perhaps you want to go down the sweet route for your sweetheart to play it safe.
If your significant other is just gung-ho over anthropomorphized food, you’re in luck.
How about something more unconventional?

I know a certain Duck Twacy who would be all over this one.

If you’re torn, you can always find a happy medium.

I actually really love this one. |

This one too. |
If you’re STILL stuck on what to give to your sweetie, you’re in luck. Who can say no to this?
Happy Valentine’s Day!
