Permission to Come Aboard, Captain!

 I’ve been waiting my whole life to join the Krusty Krew... and now I’m ready!

That‘s right! I’m so, SO excited to announce that I’m officially a Bikini Bottomite—I’m a storyboard revisionist and character designer!

This is 100% a dream come true. SpongeBob is why I’m a cartoonist. I’ve been watching it for as long as I can possibly remember, and have the first three seasons memorized like the back of my hand. Even as a little kid, I knew I wanted to make characters move and talk, and I knew that I wanted to work with these characters in particular. My number one dream job is my first job ever!

Honestly, I’m still in total disbelief, to the point where I find myself occasionally asking “Is this real? Am I faking? Even though I’ve already been doing work, am I faking? Surely this can’t be real, right?” Thankfully, I’m aware of how crazy this sounds, and I know it’s 100% real. Which is the craziest part of all!

I dropped out of my community college classes to pursue this job with all that I’ve got, and I hope (when it’s safe to do so) to move across the country to LA and really give it all that I’ve got. 

I’m getting ahead of myself for sure, so I’ll just take this one day at a time. I’m about as rookie as you can get—no professional experience, never had a job, 19 years old—but I’m VERY appreciative of all of the guidance and patience I’ve received so far. I have so much to learn, but already I’ve been absorbing a lot. I’m most excited to connect with my coworkers and see how far I grow! This has been such an amazing experience so far, and I’m only just starting! 

I could ramble about how much this job means to me forever, but I’ll spare you that torture. Just know that I am SO thankful and SO excited. I’ll be sure to keep you updated, and I hope you’ll all tune in to see everyone’s hard work! Seeing my name in the credits for the first time will be great, but I’m most excited to see all of the hard work from my coworkers.
